During this time, the tea bushes have matured further, resulting in leaves with a richer flavour and aroma.
Second Flush Muscatel tea is prized for its complex and fruity flavour, often described as having notes of muscat grapes, which impart a sweet and slightly tangy taste to the tea. The aroma is typically rich and aromatic, with floral and fruity undertones.

History - Single Estate Origin

Planted in the early 1870s, Okayti is an Organic Tea Estate sprawled in the undulating hills of magically scenic Mirik, Darjeeling. It is spread over 1,600 acres of beautiful landscape with elevation ranging from 4,000 to 6,200 feet, making it one of the highest elevation tea estates in the region that produces the most appreciated single estate Darjeeling teas. Breathtakingly black and with an astounding assemblage of flora and fauna, Okayti Tea Estate is surrounded by tall pine trees with a remarkable view of the Himalayas.

Sustainable and Social Responsibility

Close to the Nepal borders, this estate provides employment to many local tea workers providing them with excellent wages, has four local schools inside the estate, hospitals and housing for the tea workers.
